1. HOW CAN POSTPARTUM TREATMENTS HELP YOU?
Congratulations, family!
A new stage begins now, a awakening; you are born as a mother, and just like your baby, you will be in continuous development and learning.
I know firsthand that you may not have time for yourself right now; however, I want you to keep in mind how extremely important it is for you to recover well so that you can fully enjoy your motherhood, take care of your baby, face your day-to-day life, and even future pregnancies with the same quality of life as the first one.
2. WHO IS THE POSTPARTUM SESSION FOR?
These sessions are intended for ALL women who have had a baby, whether they have discomfort or not, and whether they have had a vaginal delivery or a cesarean section; it is always advisable to have an ASSESSMENT SESSION.
The ideal time to do this is after the postpartum period; however, if your child is already older, it's never too late to start taking care of yourself.
After assessing your posture and determining the state of your abdominal muscles and pelvic floor, we will design a protocol of specific exercises for you to strengthen your internal musculature and recover at home.
Our visits last one hour, are completely individualized, and if you wish, you can come accompanied by your partner and your baby.
3. WHAT WILL WE WORK ON IN THE SESSIONS?
The postpartum review is conducted after the postpartum period and will mainly consist of:
Explanation of advice and postpartum exercise protocol: or a brief review of them if you already came to us during your pregnancy.
Assessment of your diaphragm and abdominal wall to ensure there is no rectus diastasis or hernias.
Assessment of the perineum: to see how the musculature and your scar (if you have one) have healed, ruling out adhesions or imbalances that may affect the functionality of your pelvic floor.
We will also check the condition of the coccyx and pubis for any joint blockages, as they often cause long-term symptoms.
We will check for any prolapses (visceral drops) to treat them immediately.
And we will see how your pelvic-perineal reflexes are functioning, as they are crucial for protecting your organs during exertion.
IF EVERYTHING IS WITHIN NORMAL LIMITS, we will propose a home exercise protocol, discharging you when we meet all the objectives.
However, sometimes things do not go as expected, and you may need additional sessions to specifically address some potential pathologies such as:
GROUP THERAPY
I offer you the opportunity to care for your pelvic floor, posture, and abdomen guided by professionals specialized in your abdominal pelvic-perineal recovery.
After your individualized initial assessment and appropriate treatment, we will decide what type of group best suits your needs.
